decided to withdraw from its UK coal based operations in May 1988.
During that time was responsible for all tendering, tender document reviews
and the preparation of feasibility type studies for all minerals related
opportunities.

Open pit Mining Engineer in the Head Office based Mining Engineering and
Consulting team where duties included: general opencast mine and quarry
consulting with particular reference to drilling, blasting and mine
restoration; working on feasibility studies for new surface mineral deposits
within Southern Africa. This included all the planning work for a large
limestone quarry near Pretoria and an open pit tin mine in Namibia.
Before transfer to Head
Office was Mine Planning Engineer for two years at Sishen iron ore mine in
Cape Province. During this time carried out medium and long term planning
and evaluation operations for this deep open pit mine which had a total
capacity of over 100Mt/year.
